has begun a second special interest group (SIG), once again a spin-off
from Discussion Group. This group will focus on Writing Your
Story and is appropriate for all levels of genealogists and writers.
We all have stacks and notebooks, file folders, and file drawers
full of statistical information about our ancestors. Who is
really going to read all this? Probably nobody. But if you
can get it into a prose format that has interesting details along with
the statistical data, your siblings, children and grandchildren may
find it as fascinating as you do.
Whether you are thinking of a multi-generational tome or a short-story length narrative about one ancestor, we can help you get your thoughts organized and establish a plan for your writing project. And there's no time like the present! The group meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month at various locations around the County. end of the Food Lion shopping center on 113 Tom Dempsy will moderate the March meeting and lead a discussion on creating an Ethical Will. Marilyn has asked everyone to work on an Ethical Will to discuss at the meeting. An Ethical Will is a statement of your values, the things you hold to be important in life, such as open-mindedness or determination. It is intended to be passed on to your family, so they will know what values you considered to be important in your life. This would be something to give your family expressing how you view your life and to help them understand your future wishes. Bring your draft Will or samples of your writing to share with others.
